Feeling Disconnected
When I started my journey in 2014 I felt so alone. I did not have any friends or family who was experiencing what I was, and many shut me out. I had to go through so much of the unknown by myself and struggle through anxiety, depression, doubts, and more. I felt disconnected from the world around me, and at times questioned my sanity. I had no where to turn.
Unsure What To Do
I had no idea what to do with these gifts that were awakening inside of me. I was struggling to understand how I was able to see and know things that I wasn’t able to do before my awakening. I struggled so much with how to control the visions and noise happening around me. There were days I laid in bed with the covers and pillows over my head to try to drown out what was happening to me. I was hurting and suffering mentally.
Feeling Overwhelmed
I had a family to take care of, a daughter to raise, and a job to attend to. Throw in a spiritual awakening that was completely rocking my hold on reality and you have a receipt for overwhelm and disaster. Every day I was struggling with how to keep showing up in my life (doing dishes, pay bills, clean the house, make dinners, help with homework, and more) and also cultivate these new gifts and abilities that seemed to be heightening every day.
Losing Interest
I started losing interest in things that I always used to love doing and could not understand why. I was losing interest in certain social groups, conversations, tasks, and more! I felt like I didn’t fit in anywhere anymore. I gravitated towards new people, new conversations with openness and truth, and activities that involved intuition and integrity, but I had no idea where to find these types of people or groups. Again, I was so alone and felt lost.
Afraid to Trust
As a society, we are never taught how to connect to our souls and to really trust ourselves and the information we receive. I went through so much doubt and pain because I was afraid to trust myself. I was afraid to believe that I was “special” enough to be having this beautiful awakening that was rattling my life. We are taught to question and doubt, and even push away and shun things we cannot see or explain, and I had to crawl out of this fear by myself.
